Sophisticated Solutions to Complex Legal Problems
On the public side of our construction procurement practice, we guide governmental agencies and municipalities through all phases of the procurement process. We prepare bid documents, invitations to bid, requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for qualification (RFQs). We thoroughly review all statements of qualifications and to verify that they adhere to the stated requirements, develop scoring and evaluation methodologies and guide building committees and building committees through the procurement process.
On private projects, we facilitate communication between all involved parties throughout the procurement process, identify legal requirements, develop bid documents, RFPs, RFQs and contract documents and work to protect the interests of our clients. We meet with owners to understand concerns related to program, schedule, price and quality. We also meet with design and construction teams to understand their timelines and their various needs to ensure proper planning, communication and expectation management.
For all construction procurement matters, we take the time to advise clients of the local, state and federal laws that apply to the procurement and selection process. We are experienced in evaluating bidder responsibility and qualifications. We also have successfully defended multiple bid protests.
Throughout the course of our representation, we emphasize the importance of timely, accurate and complete communication. We have extensive experience handling construction litigation matters, which means that we understand the many issues that can arise during the construction process. Often times, these issues can be attributed to a simple failure to communicate — we work diligently to prevent such disputes by encouraging open, timely and frequent communication.
