Attorney Louis J. Dagostine is a graduate from Colby College and Hofstra University School of Law. His practice includes representation of businesses, municipalities, financial institutions, construction firms and individuals in state and federal court in the areas of business litigation, insurance defense, construction law, creditors’ rights litigation and personal injury litigation. Louis regularly appears in court and at depositions. He handles all aspects of cases from inception to trial.
On four separate occasions, Louis has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers in the field of business litigation. He is admitted to the Connecticut Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. He has authored and co-authored articles which have appeared in The Connecticut Law Tribune and The Connecticut Lawyer. Louis is a member of both the New Haven and Connecticut Bar Associations. He has served on an arbitration panel for a case involving claimed negligence and personal injuries.
Giving back to the community is important to Louis. In November 2017, Louis became an elected member of the Library Board in the City of Shelton. For four years prior, Louis served two terms as an elected member of the Board of Apportionment & Taxation in the City of Shelton. He served as a member of “Shelton Empowers” whose mission is to reduce substance use and promote a healthy and safe community through empowerment and mental wellness. In 2016, Louis gave a presentation to children at the Huntington Branch Library in Shelton and participated in a mock trial based on Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Seuss.
Louis has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley and the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce. Louis is a Corporator at the Valley United Way. In 2017, the City of Shelton awarded Louis the Clean Sweep Volunteer of the Year.
